The programmes of the Finno-Ugric Capital of Culture year offer visitors a chance to come closer to the diverse cultures, traditions and everyday life of the Finno-Ugric peoples. The year-long series aims to create meeting points for different cultures, generations and communities.
Alongside major events there are cultural performances, music and dance, exhibitions, gastronomic gatherings, craft workshops, lectures and family programmes. Visitors can discover Finno-Ugric heritage while experiencing the hospitality and community spirit of Geresdlak.
The programmes welcome local residents, guests from the surrounding area and international visitors alike. Their aim is that traditions should not remain mere memories of the past, but living, shareable values for the present and the future.
