The opening of the Gingerbread Village exhibition is one of Geresdlak’s most special and best-known Advent events. Every year on the first Sunday of Advent the settlement’s nationally renowned gingerbread village opens its doors, presenting intricate works created through community cooperation, in which Finno-Ugric cultural values and motifs also appear. The exhibition shows not only craft masterpieces but also brings visitors closer to Geresdlak’s history, built heritage, traditions and the creativity of local people. After the opening the exhibition can be visited throughout the year.
